Agritourism (Tourism on the farm)
The Aosta Valley lies at the foot of the highest mountains of the Alps. The names of the peaks are world-wide known: Gran Paradiso, Mont Blanc, Cervino, Mont Rose.
There are two passes over the mountain barrier: the Little and the Great St. Bernard Passes and two road tunnels (at present only one after the bad fire accident of one year ago) which link the valley to Switzerland and France.
Other than the traditional tourism the Aosta Valley today offers 48 structures of agritourism situated in beautiful surroundings both in the main and the lateral valleys. Through this type of holiday the tourists can satisfy their necessity of contact with the local traditions.
